A seminar on Adopting a Competency-based Training Approach for Curriculum Development will be organised by the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) to provide participants the opportunity to keep abreast of the latest development of vocational education and training (VET) in Mainland China. In this seminar, our guest speaker, Professor JIANG Dayuan, will share his extensive knowledge and experience in adopting a competency-based training (CBT) approach in curriculum development and its innovation.
Professor JIANG Dayuan is the Research Professor in the Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education at Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Director of the Higher Vocational and Technical Education Research Centre. His experience in vocational and technical education also includes serving such as the Standing Board Member of the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education. Professor JIANG is devoted in the research and implementation of curriculum development in vocational and technical education. In the basis of studying and adopting the approach of curriculum development worldwide such as Germany, Australia and United Kingdom, Professor JIANG blended it with his exploration in China, particularly the Chinese philosophy and culture thoughts and formed a unique model of curriculum development: well-structured curriculum development and innovation using competency-based training approach.
