About the Workshop
This workshop aims to provide general understanding to participants on the social situation of Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students. Participants will know more about the general profile of NCS students in Hong Kong, such as customs, languages and religions; as well as the challenges and the obstacles faced by NCS students in social life, education and employment. Participants will also review and reflect on their communication skills with students of diverse cultural and ethnical backgrounds. There will be sharing by an NCS person to present the needs of them.
On completion of the seminar, participants would be able to:
- describe the social situation of NCS students in Hong Kong;
- suggest ways to cultivate a multi-culturally harmonious campus; and
- reflect on the communication strategies with students of diverse cultural and ethnical backgrounds.
